Nintendo’s official SNES diagnostic cartridge
The Burn-In Test cartridge was developed by Nintendo USA in the 1990s for use in their after-sales service centers. It allowed technicians to thoroughly test the internal functions of Super Nintendo consoles.
With this cartridge, you can check the PPUs, RAM, DMA (Direct Memory Access), and more. It also tests accessories such as controllers, the Mario Paint mouse, and the Super Scope. A sound module is included to test the SNES audio output.
It’s the perfect tool to determine in just a few seconds if your SNES or Super Famicom is working correctly. Photo examples show one console in perfect condition, and another with a DMA-related error.
